Louisville & Nashville Railroad Depot, Shelbyville, Kentucky
This is the former Louisville and Nashville Railroad Depot in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Closed as a station in 1971, it was moved to its current location shortly afterwards. It is now privately owned and well preserved. We made this photo set on a recent trip through the area.

Heigold House Facade, "The Point" in Louisville, Kentucky

Abandoned Cedar Grove Bridge, Franklin County, Indiana
Located in Franklin County, Indiana, the Cedar Grove Bridge was abandoned because of a dispute between county and state officials. While it is in decent shape, nobody wanted to pay to have it repainted and redecked. As a result, the bridge was closed and traffic redirected to another bridge just upriver. Its future is in doubt.

16" Naval Gunpowder Bags, as made at INAAP, Charlestown, Indiana
Perhaps the most famous product of INAAP, the 16" naval gunpowder bag is a sight to behold. A whole bunch of these were recently disassembled for scrap, but I was lucky to get photos of one that had neatly disassembled and restored as a collectible. Check out the photos inside....

New Albany National Cemetery, Indiana
For any number of reasons, I've always felt a special connection to United States National Cemeteries. Usually referred to as "Military Cemeteries," these green spaces are the final resting places of millions of American veterans and their spouses. This is a brief photo tour of the one located in New Albany, Indiana.

Abandoned and Demolished Railroad Bridge, Paoli, Orange County, Indiana
While it may look like an Aztec pyramid, this is actually the remains of a bridge. Demolished in 1982, this is all the remains of a railroad bridge in Paoli Indiana.
